ADFSC Achieves ISO Certification
Abu Dhabi - 6th August, 2014- Abu Dhabi Farmers’ Services Centre announced today their achievement of the internationally recognized standard PAS 99 for the integration of requirements of ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management System), ISO 14001 (Environment Management System), and BS OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System).
“The certifications were chosen to achieve and sustain product and service conformity, sustain customer and stakeholder’s satisfaction and control food safety hazards to ensure food products supplied by ADFSC are safe for human consumption” said Chris Hirst, CEO of ADFSC. “The certifications also provide standards of preventing pollution, reducing our impact on the environment and controlling occupational health and safety risks.”
In order to achieve the certifications, ADFSC established an Integrated Management System (IMS) Policy in January 2012 addressing quality, food safety, occupational health and safety and environmental management system requirements.
ADFSC has so far completed the implementation of their IMS in a number of selected facilities and corporate divisions and achieved third party certification for five international management system standards from BSI Management Systems.

“ADFSC’s certification of compliance with these international standards confirms that our policies, practices and procedures are consistent and in line with our long-term strategy. We are now ready to roll out this process to the whole organisation.” Said Hirst.
ADFSC has also recently achieved GLOBALG.A.P certification for selected farms. GLOBALG.A.P is an internationally recognised standard for farm management practices. Created in the late 1990s by several European supermarket chains and their major suppliers, G.A.P is an acronym for Good Agricultural Practices. In November (27th – 29th) 2014, under the patronage of H.H. Shiekh Mansour Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Abu Dhabi will play host to the GLOBALG.A.P Summit.
